Those of you who know me, know that I am an avid reader. I read all genres. Christian, fiction, nonfiction, mystery, some love stories, not my favorite, and anything else that just really catches my interest. I only recommend to others the books that I’ve found moving or thought-provoking. And this is one of those books. As Christians, we know that there is a spiritual warfare going on around us. We acknowledge and accept that there are angels and demons doing the bidding of Christ and of Satan around us constantly. We know that we have free will to choose which force we are going to follow. This book that I just finished listening to on audible is one of those profoundly thought-provoking books that I want to recommend to my friends. This book is about the spiritual warfare that is going on around us constantly. It truly made me think about the thoughts that run through my head, the doubts and insecurities, that we all face on a daily basis. In one section of the book, it references the demon of doubt. The demon of complacency. The demon of strife. Those feelings and thoughts that we have are not from Christ. God tells us not to be anxious, and not to be fearful, but to turn to him with those doubts and fears. This book just really made me think about my thoughts. And I’ve been doing the Bible study Get Out of your Head that I have referenced in a previous blog. We are in control of our thoughts. We need to hold our own thoughts captive turn them over to God, and not let those thoughts captivate us.
