April Real Estate Update: Elmore County Is Heating Up đźŚ¸

Hey y’all—Angie Carter here.

If you’ve been wondering what’s going on in the Elmore County real estate market right now, I’ll give it to you straight: things are picking up, and April is a big deal.

Spring Has Officially Hit the Market

Every year, this is when things start moving—and 2026 is no different.

We’re seeing:

  • More homes hitting the market
  • More buyers actively looking
  • More showings happening across Wetumpka, Millbrook, and Deatsville

But here’s the key—we’re not in a crazy, out-of-control market.
This is still a good, balanced market, and that’s a win for everybody.

What That Means for Buyers

If you’re buying, you’ve got opportunity right now.

Homes aren’t flying off the shelf in 5 minutes like they were a couple years ago. You’ve got a little breathing room—but don’t get too comfortable either.

The good homes?
👉 They’re still moving.

My advice:

  • Get pre-approved (non-negotiable)
  • Know what you want before you start looking
  • Be ready to pull the trigger when the right one pops up

Millbrook and Deatsville are still some of the best value spots in the county, and they’re getting attention.

What That Means for Sellers

If you’ve been sitting on the fence about selling… this is your window.

Buyer activity is up, and we’re seeing solid offers when homes are:
✔️ Priced right
✔️ Clean and show-ready
✔️ Marketed correctly

Notice I didn’t say “priced high.”

Overpricing right now will hurt you more than help you. The buyers are out there—but they’re smart.

Wetumpka Is Still Leading the Pack

No surprise here—Wetumpka continues to be one of the hottest areas in the county.

People want to be there. Period.

But don’t overlook Millbrook—there’s still a ton of upside there, especially for first-time buyers or anyone looking to get more house for their money.

My Honest Take

Right now?
👉 This is one of the healthiest markets we’ve had in a while.

It’s not crazy.
It’s not slow.
It’s steady—and that’s where smart decisions happen.

Bottom Line

If you’re thinking about buying or selling in Elmore County this spring, don’t wait until summer when everyone else jumps in.

Get ahead of it.
